Teens Yoga are back in Cronulla

Every Wednesday 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm at Cronulla Central Hall 2 (Library building)

Teens Yoga and Mindfulness

Our Yoga for Teen class is open to those between 11-16 years old.

Every Wednesday 5:30 pm (10 weeks) With Ying Bean

Our classes are just right for those important transition years.
Since ancient times, yoga has offered techniques to support growing bodies, restless minds, and stressful lives.

Yoga practice supports the growing self-awareness that is integral to discovering who you really are, what you really want and love, empowers you to go for it, and reconnects you with an inner place of calm.

These classes will offer teens an exciting and enthusiastic practice that will align the body and mind working together.
They are perfect for teens who are trying to balance the pressures of their daily lives.

Through intelligent sequencing, you will be guided through an alignment-focused asana (physical) practice to foster body awareness, flexibility, and strength, while allowing you to de-stress those areas prone to holding tension. The classes will also incorporate accessible breathing techniques to tap into your parasympathetic nervous system allowing you to rest and digest easily during the practice and also throughout the day. Most importantly these classes will be fun.

These mindfulness and movement sessions are run by Ying Bean,

Each session will include a well-being check-in, mindfulness activities, and yoga movement.

1. Improved productivity and focus – mindfulness helps to bring you back to the moment, which allows you to focus on the task at hand rather than letting distractions get the better of you. This means you’re able to complete tasks more efficiently and effectively, which improves overall productivity

2. Increased self-awareness – mindfulness encourages you to check in with your thoughts and emotions and to acknowledge them so that you can move towards a resolution, rather than dwelling in overwhelming emotions.

3. It helps to change unhealthy habits. Mindfulness is about focusing on the here and now, it works to stop you from living your life on autopilot. When you move through your day without really being involved in your actions, it's easy to let unhealthy habits take over. When you stop to consciously think about them, however, this is when change can take place.
